terms & conditions
Last updated: September 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by Nutter Dogs Ltd and Nutter Dogs Agility Ltd (hereafter ‘Nutter Dogs’), including but not limited to dog training classes, private training, workshops, agility training, mantrailing, events and field hire.
By booking a service with Nutter Dogs, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
If you are unsure whether a service is suitable for you or your dog, please contact us before booking.
1. Class and service eligibility
Before booking any service, you must make sure that your dog is eligible and suitable for the service you are booking. Specific requirements may be listed on the relevant service page.
Nutter Dogs reserves the right to refuse or end a booking where a service is considered unsuitable for a particular dog or handler.
If you are unsure whether a particular service is appropriate for your dog, please contact us before booking.
2. Your dog must…
- Be under your control at all times.
- Wear a standard, flat collar at all times. No check chains, prong collars or martingale collars are permitted. The collar should include an ID tag as required by law.
- A head collar and/or harness may be worn where appropriate, but these must be in addition to, and not instead of, a standard flat collar.
- Wear a standard clipping lead. Slip leads and extendable/retractable leads are not permitted unless specifically agreed with your instructor.
- Be physically and medically sound, with any pre-existing medical conditions being appropriately managed.
- Not attend a session if showing signs of sickness, including but not limited to vomiting or diarrhoea. Your dog must be at least 48 hours symptom-free before attending.
- Not attend a session if they have been exposed to a communicable disease until the appropriate incubation period has passed. This includes, but is not limited to, kennel cough, parvovirus, distemper and canine influenza. Where appropriate, veterinary advice should be followed.
- Not attend a session while showing symptoms of a communicable disease and must remain away for an appropriate period after symptoms have ceased, in accordance with veterinary advice where applicable.
- Only attend classes while in season if the instructor has been informed in advance, if the dog is comfortable working while in season, and if the group environment is considered appropriate.
If a Nutter Dogs instructor suspects that your dog may have a medical or physical problem, you may be asked to seek appropriate veterinary treatment before returning to training.
Where a dog is unable to attend because of illness or a medical issue, refunds or alternative sessions will not normally be provided unless otherwise agreed by Nutter Dogs.
3. You must…
- Treat other handlers, dogs, instructors, staff and venue personnel with courtesy and respect.
- Pay in full for services at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.
- Follow instructions given by Nutter Dogs instructors and staff.
- Ensure your dog does not interact with other dogs or handlers unless specifically instructed to do so.
- Ensure any guests, partners or children accompanying you also follow these rules.
- Keep children and other guests under your supervision at all times.
- Not act harshly towards your dog or use punishing tools or methods.
- Clean up after your dog and take all dog waste home with you.
- Inform Nutter Dogs before attending if there is anything about your dog’s behaviour, health or circumstances that may affect their participation or the safety of others.
- Inform the instructor immediately if your dog displays behaviour that may present a risk to another dog or person.
- Take responsibility for your dog’s equipment, belongings and personal possessions while attending Nutter Dogs services.
4. Booking and payment
Bookings are confirmed once payment has been successfully received, unless Nutter Dogs has agreed otherwise in advance.
Prices are displayed at the time of booking and are subject to change for future bookings.
Any discounts, membership rates or promotional codes must be applied at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.
Promotional codes cannot normally be applied retrospectively to bookings that have already been made.
Bookings are personal to the person and dog booked and may only be transferred to another person or dog with the prior agreement of Nutter Dogs.
5. Cancellations, refunds and rescheduling
Our cancellation policy may vary depending on the type of service booked.
Group classes, courses, workshops and events
Bookings are generally non-refundable and non-transferable once booked.
Where sufficient notice is provided, Nutter Dogs may, at its discretion, offer an alternative date, transfer or credit. This is not guaranteed and depends on availability and the nature of the service.
No refund will normally be provided for missed sessions, including sessions missed because of illness, behavioural difficulties, lateness or other circumstances outside Nutter Dogs’ control.
Private training
Private training appointments may be rescheduled where sufficient notice is provided.
Late cancellations and missed appointments may be charged in full.
Any specific cancellation period or fee stated at the time of booking takes precedence over this general policy.
Field Hire
Field Hire bookings are subject to the cancellation and rescheduling conditions stated at the time of booking.
Once a booking has started, unused time cannot normally be refunded.
6. Late arrival
Sessions will normally finish at the scheduled time regardless of late arrival.
If you arrive late, the session may be shortened and the full booking fee will still be payable.
For Field Hire, access is limited to the booked period and additional time cannot be assumed to be available.
7. Changes, cancellations or postponement by Nutter Dogs
Nutter Dogs reserves the right to change, postpone or cancel a service where necessary, including due to:
- Instructor availability
- Venue availability
- Severe or unsuitable weather
- Safety concerns
- Ground or facility conditions
- Equipment failure
- Insufficient bookings
- Circumstances outside our reasonable control
Where Nutter Dogs cancels or postpones a service, we will endeavour to offer an appropriate alternative, transfer or refund where applicable.
Nutter Dogs will communicate significant changes to customers using the contact details provided at the time of booking.
8. Behaviour and safety
Dog training involves working with animals and therefore carries an inherent level of risk.
You remain responsible for your dog throughout every Nutter Dogs session, including when following instructions from an instructor.
You must disclose relevant information about your dog’s behaviour, bite history, aggression, reactivity, guarding, medical conditions or other factors that could affect safety.
Nutter Dogs may modify an exercise, separate a dog from others, ask you to use additional management equipment, or end participation if we believe this is necessary for safety.
Nutter Dogs may refuse or terminate a booking where a dog’s behaviour presents an unacceptable risk to another person, dog, the instructor, the venue or the dog itself.
Where appropriate, we may recommend veterinary, behavioural or other professional support.
9. Children and additional people
Children and other guests are welcome where permitted by the individual service.
The person making the booking remains responsible for any children or guests accompanying them.

The field must be left clean and tidy.
All dog waste must be picked up and taken home with you.

To the extent permitted by law, Nutter Dogs will not be responsible for loss, damage, injury or expense arising from your failure to follow instructions, these Terms & Conditions, venue rules or reasonable safety guidance.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where the law does not permit such liability to be excluded.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that they have appropriate insurance where they consider this necessary.
16. Dogs that become unsuitable for a service
A dog’s suitability for a particular service may change over time.
Nutter Dogs reserves the right to reassess suitability where circumstances change, including changes in behaviour, health, age, environment or risk.
Where possible, we will discuss alternative arrangements with you.
This may include changing the training environment, using additional management measures, moving to private training, or recommending another professional service.
17. Refusal of service
Nutter Dogs reserves the right to refuse or terminate a booking where:
- A dog or handler presents an unacceptable safety risk.
- A customer repeatedly fails to follow instructions or these Terms & Conditions.
- A customer behaves aggressively, abusively or disrespectfully towards another person, dog, instructor, staff member or venue.
